General Tree Pruning

Trees are typically pruned for structure, form, and to remove deadwood. Almost all trees need to be pruned from time to time in order to promote healthy growth and allow plenty of air flow through the tree helping to discourage rot and fungus.

Cabling

Installing cables between two or more leaders is an effective way to prolong the life of an otherwise potentially unsafe or compromised tree. Cables are installed by drilling through the trunk and fitting each leader with eye bolts. Once the bolts are in and secured, the cable is attached using “dead end grips”. The tree grows around the bolts further strengthening the point of attachment.

Removals

Trees are removed for a variety of reasons from health issues to being too close to buildings or creating an unwanted mess. I am experienced in both technical climbing and takedowns and felling trees in the woods and around other obstacles.

Planting

From bushes and shrubs, to bare root, balled and burlapped trees, I have the tools and resources to find and install the right tree for your location.

Fruit Tree Pruning

Best done while the trees are dormant during the winter months, fruit trees benefit from pruning in a variety of ways. In addition to enhancing air circulation, removing unnecessary branches allows the tree to put more energy into the flower and fruit producing larger, sweeter, and healthier crop.
